Hello All,
Does anyone remember an article in some unix magizne about ethernet timing
issues with new chip sets having shorter inter-gap delays or something
like that.
If any does, please let me know where I can get more information on this
issue.

I don't know about the magazine article but if you are interested in the
source material, the person who sleuthed the problem is Wesley Irish at
Xerox PARC. He has files available that detail the results of his
investigations and the reduction in traffic on PARC's ethernets when they
replaced the cheating chips with chips that follow the rules. His email

I'm sure he can give you a pointer to the server that contains his results
and might know of the magazine article you are referring to.
